Viktors Stankevičs is a Latvian double bassist whose professional career encompasses orchestral, operatic, and chamber music performance. He studied at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music under Professor Sergejs Brīnums, earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Double Bass Performance. During his studies, he furthered his training at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim (Germany) with Professor Petru Iuga through the ERASMUS exchange programme. He has also participated in masterclasses with Knut Erik Sundquist, Miloslav Jelínek, Petru Iuga, Gunars Upatnieks, Stefano Sciascia, and Alexander Shilo.

From 2008 to 2022, Stankevičs was a member of the State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga. Since 2013, he has served as Assistant Principal Double Bass of the Orchestra of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, since 2022 he has been a member of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, and since 2026 he has been a solo double bassist in Davinspiro Camerata chamber orchestra.

As an orchestral musician, he has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, appearing at major international festivals and concert venues. As a soloist, he has performed with the chamber orchestra Sinfonia Concertante. Alongside his performing career, he has taught at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Pārdaugava Music and Art School.
