Santa Lūcija Circene (b. 2000) is a Latvian violist who regularly performs in both Germany and Latvia. She has studied at prestigious institutions such as the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin (Germany) with Julia Gartemann and Diyang Mei, as well as at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (Latvia) with Ināra Brīnuma and currently with Pēteris Trasuns.

Santa has performed with several distinguished orchestras, including the Mannheimer Philharmoniker, Kremerata Baltica, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga, and the Karajan Academy Orchestra of the Berlin Philharmonic.

Santa Lūcija-Circene is the viola group concertmaster of the Davinspiro Camerata chamber orchestra since 2022, and violist in Kremerata Baltica orchestra since 2026.

She is particularly passionate about chamber music and enjoys performing in small ensemble settings. For this reason, participation in festivals such as “Satikšanās Saulkrastos” and Città Alta Chamber Music Week, as well as performing with the soloists of Davinspiro Camerata chamber orchestra, has been especially meaningful to her artistic development.

Santa has refined her technical and musical skills through masterclasses and coaching with renowned artists such as Tabea Zimmermann, Maxim Rysanov, Ettore Causa, and Nils Mönkemeyer.

She has received several awards and distinctions, including First Prize at the Latvian Professional Music Schools Competition and Third Prize at the Augusts Dombrovskis International Competition for Young Performers.
