Marta Jurjāne (b. 2000) is a Latvian violinist whose musical journey began in Liepāja, where she started studying violin at Emilis Melngailis Music Highschool under the guidance of Beata Zariņa - Blaščinska. She continued her professional musical education at Emīls Dārziņš Music Highschool, where she studied under the guidance of renowned violin teacher Ludmila Girska. Marta further developed her technical mastery and musical expression, gaining valuable experience as both a soloist and ensemble musician.

Marta earned her Bachelor’s degree from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where she studied under Professor Sandis Šteinbergs. She later completed her Master’s degree at the same institution in the class of Professor Marta Spārniņa. During her studies, she expanded her artistic horizons, refined her technical and interpretative skills, and cultivated a broad and diverse musical repertoire.

Driven by desire to deepen her artistic development, Marta also studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in Austria, studying in the violin class of Professor Lothar Strauß. This international experience further enriched her artistic development and broadened her perspective on violin performance and orchestral playing.

Since 2024, Marta has been a tutti violinist of the Davinspiro Camerata chamber orchestra.

Orchestral performance has played a particularly significant role in Marta’s musical career. Since 2018 she has been a member of Baltic Sea Philharmonic orchestra, conducted by Kristjan Järvi, performing in the greatest concert halls in Europe and also having concerts in Hong Kong. During her studies abroad she became a member of Beethoven Frühling Festival Orchestra based in Vienna, which was founded in 2020 by Austrian pianist and conductor Dorothy Khadem-Missagh. Marta has performed as a substitute violinist with Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian National Opera and Ballet orchestra. Since 2024 she is a substitute violinist for the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.

Marta has actively participated in international masterclasses with renowned violinists and pedagogues including Elisabeth Kufferath, Andrey Dogadin, Lisa Jacobs, Philip Draganov, Stephan Picard, Mayu Kishima, Jan Rebko, Caroline Strumphler, Roberto Muttoni, Florian Donderer, Jan Bjoranger, and Boris Garlitsky. She has participated in courses with chamber music in ARS SummerFest in Lithuania, as the orchestra concertmaster in Järvi Academy in Estonia, and a member in ‘’Energy for Life’’ in Austria directed by Yuri Bashmet.

Marta is establishing herself as a violinist, shaping a path defined by curiosity, versatility, and artistic dedication.
