Terēze Dārta Balode (b. 2002) is a Latvian violinist whose musical journey began in Liepāja at the age of five at Emīlis Melngailis Music High School, where she studied under the guidance of Beata Zariņa-Blaščinska. In 2026, she completed her professional music studies and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in the violin class of Professor Gunārs Larsens. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chamber Music.

As a soloist, Terēze made her debut with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra at the age of 12. She later received 2nd Prize at the Valdis Vikmanis Competition for Young Performing Artists where also performed with Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and has participated in competitions both in Latvia and internationally. 

She served as concertmaster of the string ensemble Amber Strings, which won the Grand Prix in the 2020 competition “Rising Stars”, earning the opportunity to represent Latvia at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, USA. In 2022, the ensemble returned from the competition with three gold medals.

Terēze has participated in numerous international masterclasses with distinguished violinists and pedagogues, including Jevgenija Epšteina, Georgy Tsay, Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba, Lisa Jacobs, Philip A. Draganov, Dora Bratchkova, Tamar Bulia, Rūta Lipinaitytė, Kristīne Blaumane, Gregor Sigl, and many others.

Alongside her chamber music career, Terēze has been a member of Davinspiro Camerata chamber orchestra since 2023. Since 2026, she has worked as a substitute violinist with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and also collaborates with other Latvian orchestras.

Deeply passionate about chamber music, Terēze is continually engaged in artistic exploration, seeking new forms of musical expression and meaningful collaboration with fellow musicians. Her work is guided by curiosity, sensitivity, and a commitment to ongoing musical growth and artistic development.
